THE LAR DONA VERA<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Caminho da Vida Association – \u201cLar Dona Vera\u201d was established in 1996 as a temporary home for children who have been legally separated from abusive parents. Our mission is to care for them until they can be reunited with their biological families or placed in caring adoption homes.<\/p>\n

Since its founding, the home has welcomed more than 520 children<\/strong> thus far who arrived at the institution at ages ranging from 0 to 18 years old. Our goal is to ensure that the children are safe, comfortable, well-fed, loved, and healthy through the assistance of medical care from volunteers such as doctors, psychologists, dentists, and other experts who offer their services for free.
\nChildren are welcomed without distinction of race, color, or creed and remain in the institution while waiting for reintegration into the biological family or adoption.<\/p>\n

Currently, the Institution operates with 03 units:<\/strong>
\nHouse 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Is an institutional shelter that can host up to 20 children from the ages 0 to 2 years old.
\nHouse 2:<\/strong> Hosts kids from the ages 2 to 10 years old.
\nHouse\u00a03:<\/strong> Shelters for pregnant teenagers and their children and older kids victims of abuse.<\/p>\n

OUR WORK<\/span><\/h3>\n

We operate largely thanks to donations<\/strong> of cash, products, and services.
\nThe organization also receives income from our monthly charity bazaar and from Curitiba’s Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents. The organization is managed by the Association’s president and a four-person board of directors. Both the president and the board members are unpaid volunteers.<\/p>\n

The home currently counts on the assistance of paid employees such as nannies, technicians as well as other unpaid volunteers who help to take care and entertain the children.<\/p>\n
